Passport price to rise for second time in 14 months. In blow to holidaymakers
The cost of UK passports is set to increase by 7 percent from today, following a 9 percent hike last February. The rise will push the price of online adult passport applications from £82.50 to £88.50, making UK passports the fourth most expensive in Europe. Consumer expert Martyn James dubbed the increase “spectacularly bad timing”, while the Home Office explained the funds will reduce tax reliance and aid investment in passport services.
