Shakira paid a massive fine of £7million pounds to the Catalan authorities today to avoid an eight year jail term for tax evasion.

The Colombian pop star said she agreed to the payout to spare her sons seeing her going on a  trial.

The Worldwide pop sensation has had a challenging time of late with this legal case hanging over her, along with a very nasty and public break-up from husband, Spanish international footballer Gerard Pique.

The settlement of this case will bring a sense of closure to Shakira.
