Pub and bar closures at decade high, as surging inflation and energy costs take their toll. More than two pub businesses a day, or 769 in total, entered insolvency last year, according to the Insolvency Service. That marked a rise of almost 50pc on the 518 insolvencies recorded in 2022, which was the previous decade high.
